The first edition of the Morning Press was published on March 1, 1902. The founders were Paul R. Eyerly and Charles T. Vanderslice. The Berwick Daily Enterprise was first published on April 6, 1903. Its founder was C.A. Rasley who continued to publish it until January 31, 1907, when he sold it to Eyerly and Vanderslice. Both publications continued to exist as separate entities with separate printing facilities until May 30, 1972. On that date, The Morning Press and the Berwick Enterprise consolidated their printing operations at the new location on Route 11 near Bloomsburg.
The company undertook a building expansion in 1976, shortly after it became involved in commercial printing for outside clients. The downtown office of The Morning Press was moved to the Route 11 facility during a second building expansion in 1980.
A changeover in leadership occurred in September 1979, when Pete Eyerly, who had been in the position of general manager/associate publisher, took over the reins as Publisher from his father, Paul Eyerly Jr., who assumed the title of president of the company. Paul Jr. retained that title until his death in 1983.
The fourth generation of the Eyerly family became involved in the business during the late 1990s when Paul R. Eyerly IV and Brandon R. Eyerly became actively involved in operations, administration and marketing.
Effective April 6, 2004, Brandon R. Eyerly assumed the title of publisher of Press Enterprise, Inc. and other publications of the corporation. Paul R. Eyerly IV became president of Press Enterprise.
While The Morning Press had always been a morning newspaper, the Berwick Enterprise remained an afternoon publication until November 10, 1980, when it joined the national trend of afternoon newspapers converting to morning editions.
Then, on July 1, 1983, the Berwick Enterprise merged with The Morning Press to become the Press Enterprise Inc., which has been printed as a morning edition ever since that date. In October 1995, Press Enterprise Inc. began publishing the newspaper 365 days a year (366 in leap years). In addition to the daily newspaper, Press Enterprise Inc. also publishes a large print telephone directory, a weekly TMC, Value XPress, a monthly Real Estate guide and a 24/7/365 local news website. Effective October 1, 2024, Brad Bailey was named Publisher of the Press Enterprise, Inc. and other publications of the corporation. Brandon R. Eyerly assumed the position of Chairman of the Board, following in the footsteps of the late Pete Eyerly. Paul R. Eyerly IV remains president of Press Enterprise, Inc.

The Commercial Printing Division began in 1976 when the owner reached out to a local grocery store to print its circulars. Press Enterprise Inc. has been printing circulars ever since. Over 45 years, Press Enterprise Inc. has added other options and services. In 1995, the company added two additional commercial presses, and in 2002 converted those presses from Cold-Set to Heat-Set. In 2005, we added two additional Heat-Set Presses. Today, Press Enterprise Inc. has six Commercial Presses — four Heat-Set press lines and two Cold-Set press lines. Other upgrades include moving to Computer-to-Plate in 2001 and a Cold-Set press expansion in 2008. The Commercial Printing Division specializes in retail circular advertising, booklets, broadsheets, tabloids, and publication printing.
In 2010, the Commercial Printing Division installed its first Digital Press and added a Digital Printing and Marketing department to offer additional services to its customers. In 2011, Press Enterprise Inc. added a Large Format Press, and in 2013 added sheet-fed printing capabilities. Today, the Digital Printing and Marketing department has five presses with the most recent addition in 2024. The Digital Printing and Marketing department focuses on small and medium-sized printing projects that include signage, mailers, variable data projects and brochures, along with many finishing options.

"Press Enterprise has been our trusted partner for producing newspaper inserts as well as a myriad of other products over the past 15+ years. What I love about Press Enterprise and our super team is number 1, attitude. They are so pleasant to work and tackle issues and problems that arise with ease keeping my mind at rest. Number 2, they have a great stable of various equipment to meet almost any need that I have. These two major aspects that Press embodies along with first class communication is what you need in a long-standing print partner, and Press continues to drive that point home for me year after year."
